LCD TV Buying Guide Commentary
The EX600 series will be available in spring 2010 and will contain the Bravia Engine 2, Bravia Sync technology, USB ports for photo, music, and video playback. It will also have an ambient sensor technoloy which allows for picture contrast dimming or brightening depending upon room light conditions. The LCD TVs in this series have edge lit LED backlighting for long life and improved blacks. We are assuming at this point a 120Hz frame rate conversion. This unit promises Sony's best value for an LED backlit TV. It will not contain the new monolithic design present on some of the more premium models. Thus far it does not look like it will contain Bravia Internet Video and Widget options. Retail list price looks to be about $1900.
