Sharp Aquos LC-60LE925UN

Sharp LCD TV

3D TV Buying Guide Commentary

The LE925 contains all the features of the LE920 series but adds 3D capability and is the only 3D TV we know that includes 2 pairs of glasses. 3D glasses can be as high as $200 so it's nice to see an extra pair included for family or guests.

The flagship Aquos LE925 series features Sharp's groundbreaking Four Primary Color technology. Normally the primary colors on a TV screen are red, green and blue. This new Aquos LED TV adds yellow as a primary color enhancing the picture with more than a trillion available colors. Sharp says that this allows the LE925 to display all the colors the unaided human eye can see including colors that LCD televisions have not done well in the past such as the golden yellow of brass musical instruments. The new X-Gen 1080p panel uses UV2A technology to be more energy effecient than typical CFL backlit LCD panels.

Aesthetically the new full panel front glass extends to the very slim bezel to give the LE925 a modern, contemporary look that will complement any TV room. Aquomotion 240Hz processing contends with motion blur and a complete array of inputs including 4 HDMI, 1080p component, PC and USB input let you watch from a variety of sources.

Aquos Net adds internet connectivity through the built in ethernet jack, Netflix streaming video will be available as well as online content from other providers.

10 Bit Processing

Aquos 10 bit processing processes over a billion colors and creates smoother transitions of on screen elements and a highly detailed picture.

XGen Panel

Sharp's Aquos XGen panel permits more light to pass through the screen while at the same time minimizes light leakage for impressive black levels, contrast and dark scene detail.

Internet Connectivity

Sharp's Aquos Net delivers customized Internet content and live customer support via Ethernet, viewable in widget, full-screen or split-screen mode.

Eco Friendly

Lead and mercury free construction as well as automatically adjusting picture technology mean this Aquos TV is friendly both to the environment and your energy bills.

Spectral Contrast Engine

To make understanding the differing contrast levels of Aquos televisions, Sharp has ditched the overinflated numbers and gone to their own contrast rating system to make it easier for consumers to understand the differences between their TV lines.

Vyper Drive Gaming Mode

All of the digital signal processing in modern HDTVs can add precious time between inputs on a game controller and seeing that action on the screen. Vyper Drive Gaming Mode won't put you at a disadvantage by making sure the action happens when you initiate it.
