Toshiba Debuts Glasses Free 3D TV at IFA 2011
Toshiba's 55 inch 55ZL2 has a lot of built in technology. The 55" panel has four times the resolution of current televisions with its 3840x2160 screen. That's 8.3 million pixels, nevermind that the highest resolution of any HD source is currently 1920x1080 (1080p). The pixels can be individually targeted to each eye using the built-in face tracking camera to tune the lenticular lenses the show 3D programming to viewers not wearing 3D glasses.
Some spectators were underwhelmed by the experience but glasses free 3D is stil in it's infancy and many TV pundits believe 3D will not truly catch on until the glasses requirement is gone.
