Samsung UN55D7000 Internet Suite Smart TV Review

by Jack Burden

One of the most interesting features that Samsung's UN55D7000 has is its Smart Search function, which Samsung also calls AllShare. All Share lets consumers type in any phrase, let's say the "Falling Sky's" TV series or "SEC Football 2011" photos and the proprietary search tool will find every item on their local home network. This means plenty of access to personal photos, videos and music. If consumers have a higher-end Samsung HDTV model with Smart Hub, Smart Search will also search through any of the subscribed channels on Smart Hub and also browse across the internet. We were pretty impressed with the search results we saw at the show. Today, Smart Hub is only available in English.

Other than that Samsung's Smart Hub has a very saturated list of options including the names you know best such as Netflix, Vudu, Hulu Plus, Twitter and Facebook. The Apps section of the Internet suite is filled with various games, instructional videos, and stuff to tinker around with. These cost anywhere from .99 to $2.99 each for the most part.

Skype is also an optional accessory however a special Samsung camera component must be purchased seperately for around $79.

The UN55D7000 has Wifi access in-built for easy access to the Internet functionality.
