UN55D7000 QWERTY Remote control is Fab
(Applies to all UND7000 series or D8000 series TVs)

Some users of the new Samsung QWERTY remote control were not overly impressed. One of the reasons was an over-site on the reviewers part not to try out the diminutive touchpad on the QWERTY side of the remote. It works pretty well and is much faster than using the 5 way controller. A button must be pressed to turn on the touchpad sensor. For typing in letters in the web browser of the D8000 series it's actually much faster. For searching and clicking movies in the Vudu or Netflix selection categories on the UN55D7000 or D8000 series it's also much faster.
The remote control is two sided with a standard control remote on one side and the full QWERTY keyboard on the other. Granted it's not the easiest device to get used to holding with one hand control, but with a little practice it's manageable. One of the remotes best features is the ultra small mouse controller on the QWERTY side of the remote. It helps to work menu systems and type-ins much faster than the 5 arrow key controller.
The remote is a bit of an energy hog requiring 4 AAA batteries, but overall I love it. It's got the cool factor covered.
